HEART – CARE IT
Dear FriendsWork and daily schedule has made us so busy that the most important organ is left unseen and uncared. What a life it goes through nobody understands. When we are happy it has some reaction an when we are sad it has some reaction. So loads of up and down. We get our mood on track but what about our own heart. Who gives the most to us that is a life to live in different emotions and in different character. Do we really care for it? Let’s now know it and start caring it with all efforts and start saying don’t worry my heart I will make you live longer.
The heart is the life line of our body. Its like a baby, who cries for milk, who cries for attention and same way the heart if not looked after it will give many signals like feelings of pressure and tightness within chest, heartburn, Nausea, vomiting, pain in the chest, arm, back, neck or jaw, excessive sweating, shortness of breath and fatigue. These are the alarming signals of the heart, telling and warning you that I am in trouble. It usually happens to people with high cholesterol/high triglycerides, diabetes, smoking or tobacco use, high blood pressure, blood relatives with coronary disease, overweight people and those who does not do regular exercise.
So what should we do?
a) Avoid five ‘S’s
* Smoking / Tobacco
* Salt
* Sugar
* Sedentary Habits
* Stress
b) Exercise
It’s not at all difficult, the only thing require is exercise to help your heart. Light exercise like walking, treadmill, cycling are good. It increases good cholesterol and reduces bad cholesterol and it also helps you loose excess weight but do talk to doctor before you start exercising.
c) Diet
It should be monitored and full diet plan should be followed until and unless the heart is free from all risk and alarming signals. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, assorted nuts (approx 30 gms), use healthy, poly unsaturated oil for cooking, avoid ghee, butter cream and vanaspati oil., alcohol intake should be in complete moderation (not more than 30 ml) and most important take your prescribed medication regularly.
